While dogs with short coats only require brushing once a week, a dog with a long double coat may need to be brushed 3-4 times per week.
Trimming your dog’s nails is often overlooked despite being an essential part of your dog’s wellbeing. Nails that grow too long can be uncomfortable for your dog to walk on. They may change their posture to better accommodate longer nails. Arthritis, bone deformations and bad posture are just some of the ailments that can occur from leaving your dog’s nails long.
Regardless of your dog’s breed or hair length, taking your dog to the groomer to get washed and brushed will help with the condition and quality of their coat and skin. It also helps to spread the natural oils over their coat, no only making it appear shinier and healthier but also preventing skin infection.
If your dog has medium-long fur, it is highly likely that they will develop matts. Matts occur when the fur becomes bunched and entwined. Left untreated these matts can grow large and pull aggressively on the skin causing serious injuries.
Ear infections are one of the leading causes of dog deafness, so getting their ears checked and cleaned regularly will help to maintain their hearing for many years to come.
As we will be located in your property, it is required for a responsible to be home at the time. Although, you will not be requested to take part in any procedure during the grooming session. This in-home policy aims to protect better both groomer and pet owner’s safety and peace of mind.
Brushing your pet on a regular basis prevents matting and tangling, and in the worst cases, sores and infections. Also, brushing allows their coat to ventilate and distribute the natural oils stored in your pet’s fur, making it more shiny, healthy and beautiful. Too much grease buildup can block pores and cause irritation and other skin problems. Even though some dogs may not require frequent brushing, their coats will be glossier if you help stir up and distribute those oils on a more frequent basis.
The right time to start grooming your dog is after all the first vaccines are taken. After that, we will establish rapport and create an anxiety-free experience for your pet that will last a lifetime.
Unfortunately we can not accept dogs with fleas because it would risk an infection in our saloon and, as a result, risk other’s client’s dogs healthiness.
However, we are happy to provide regular flea prevention treatment with the most effective products for your best friend.
